Performer Spotlight: COURTENAY COLLINS

I met the amazing Courtenay Collins doing the play, Calendar Girls up at Georgia Ensemble Theatre in 2015 and we’ve been friends ever since! She just did her own holiday cabaret at The Alliance Theatre, and I was one of her special guests. So it just made sense for her to come and join me for mine! Here’s a spotlight on COURTENAY COLLINS!

I agreed to perform in the Valentine’s Day cabaret because I love Souper Jenny and you cannot say NO to her! She will not let you. hahaha!

Also, there's nothing that I love better than a CABARET. It gives me an opportunity to be with all of these amazing friends and do what we love to do - sing and feel things and make other people feel things for a great cause.

I love The Zadie Project because it fills a need in our city that I have witnessed first-hand in our public school systems. My kids went to a Title 1 school and I saw there was a need for this type of outreach. Children cannot be expected to learn if they are hungry. And food makes people feel loved and happy, just as Souper Jenny makes us all happy by serving such delicious and nutritious food at her restaurants. I love that this project is her “brain child” with her unique culinary voice and loving touches.

I had such a great time doing the cabaret a few years ago and I'm thrilled to be asked to do another one! I am singing 'La Vie en Rose' because I adore Edith Piaf, and especially love the song. I also love singing in French. It sounds so "phohn, phohn, phohn!”

After spending almost a year on Broadway performing in "The Prom", I'm happily back in Atlanta. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of the many delicious opportunities this vibrant city offers to actors and artists.
