Performer Spotlight: BILL NEWBERRY
Jenny and I go WAY back. I met her when she and my son were performing in Auntie Mame at Actor's Express, more years ago than I like to admit! Over the years, I have been privileged to music direct and perform in so many cabaret shows with her. Jenny is truly one of my favorite people on the planet, and when she asked me to do All’s Fair in Love & Soup, it took me about 3 seconds to say YES!
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with so many special people who will be performing. I've done shows with almost all of them, and in addition to being FIERCE performers, they are absolutely wonderful friends.
As of this moment, I'm either singing "Shiksa Goddess" from "The Last Five Years" or a song whose title is so naughty, I can't even name it, haha!
I did the initial cabaret in support of The Zadie Project, and I think it's absolutely the greatest thing Jenny has done. The Zadie project gives food and HOPE to so many people in Atlanta, and I'm proud to support it in my own small way.
I've been working closely with Milton High School's theatre program on their musicals the last few years. The spring musical there is CHICAGO, and trust me, anyone who loves theatre should get tickets now. I also teach at RISPA in Alpharetta, where I am a voice and piano instructor, and I also direct the senior voice company. I absolutely love working with the next generation of artists here in Atlanta!
