Performer Spotlight: CRAIG WALDRIP
Craig is a powerhouse in the Atlanta acting scene. And I am beyond thrilled to have him on my team for the last SIX years. He was the manager of the Decatur location, and since its closure last year, he’s managing the Buckhead shop. He shines both on and off the stage. Here’s a spotlight on CRAIG WALDRIP!
Why did you agree to perform?
I truly believe in the mission of The Zadie Project, and am excited for this chance to further our mission. I’ve also been working on my own cabaret act, and it’s a great chance to try out material
What are you most looking forward to?
I am most excited to get a chance to sing with my best friend of 20 years, Denise Arribas!
Do you know what you are singing in All’s Fair in Love and Soup? And if so, why did you choose this song?
I am singing a song about love and cake that Jenny mentioned to me (and I had complete forgotten about). It’s super fun to revisit. I also may bring out one of my drag numbers, if I can get it together in time!
Funds raised from the cabaret will go and support The Zadie Project. What about it’s mission resonates with you?
I think one of the most important parts of the project is educating the public about the concept of food deserts. Having pockets where there’s no access to real, fresh food is a terrible problem in the Metro Atlanta area. So many people do not have access to healthy options and The Zadie Project strives to help with this issue.
Anything that you want to promote? Any artistic endeavors or something to celebrate?
Keep your eyes peeled for my cabaret act later this year....I am focusing on storytelling through music of all kinds that touches my soul.
