Performer Spotlight: MITCHELL ANDERSON

I have not been on stage in over a year, so I decided to gather some of my favorite people for a Valentine’s Day cabaret! All’s Fair in Love and Soup will take place on February 14th at The Atlanta History Center and monies raised will support The Zadie Project. We are taking the next few weeks to put a spotlight on these amazing performers starting with MITCHELL ANDERSON.

Why did you agree to perform?
When Souper Jenny asks you say yes!

What are you most looking forward to?
Since I'm not a "professional" actor anymore, I love the opportunity every once in a while to perform - especially with my friend, Souper Jenny.

Do you know what you are singing? And if so, why did you choose this song?
I'll be singing "What More Can I Say" from Falsettos.  I was part of the cast that Souper Jenny got together to do a staged reading of Falsettos a couple years ago for the Zadie Project.  I love the song and I thought it was appropriate to reprise it now.  I'm also singing a duet from "Annie Get Your Gun" with Souper Jenny.  It's a love duet with a twist!  Can't wait.

Funds raised from the cabaret will go and support The Zadie Project. Do you have any history with the project? Is there anything about it’s mission that resonates with you?
The Zadie Project is exactly the kind of small non-profit I love to support.  The work is tangible and immediate.  I'm happy that over the last few years I've been involved with several events that have raised money for Jenny's organization including Fallsettos and the annual Chili Cook-off.

Anything that you want to promote? Any artistic endeavors or something to celebrate?
Well, as a matter of fact, the second season of my Emmy Award Winning digital series "After Forever" was just released on Amazon Prime!  I know I said I wasn't an actor anymore, but somehow I managed to get an Emmy Nomination for Best Actor in a Digital Series last year for season one of the show!  How do you get an Emmy Nomination?  Stop Acting!

In other news, I've opened MetroFresh Uptown on Peachtree st.  Steps away from the Woodruff Arts Center!  We're open Monday - Friday with Breakfast, Lunch and After Work Cocktails and Tapas!
